2021 Christmas Sponsorship Application: 

We ask that if you are in a position to sponsor a family, please fill out this application and return it to the Food Bank office at 2026 Quilchena Avenue or email it back to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than November 18, 2021. Once you identify your interest, we will match you with an appropriately sized family and pass that information back to you for you to begin the shopping fun as soon as possible. We ask that each sponsored family receives enough food to provide a wholesome holiday meal for all individuals as well as a gift for each member of the family. When individuals register with our program they are given an opportunity to provide an idea of their general interests, some food preferences and clothing sizes and that information will be passed on to sponsors to make this an easy and positive experience for all.

If you find you have a large group of individuals wanting to get involved, we recommend adopting multiple families rather than providing and extra-large hamper. It is a goal to have all family hampers to be relative in size depending on the number of family members. We can also supply a list of items that the families who we are unable to match with sponsors will receive from the food bank. Of course, as a sponsor, the choice is yours.

Due to a widespread demographic of our clients and some previous safety and liability concerns, all hampers will be handed out at our Christmas Hamper Location rather than having sponsors do deliveries. Please be mindful that individuals and families may be going through a different life experiences than that of your own and we need to ensure safety, respect and privacy to all those involved under all aspects of our programming.

Christmas is just around the corner and the Nicola Valley Food Bank is preparing to provide Christmas breakfast, dinner and snacks.

It takes a lot of preparation from volunteers to ensure that everyone who applies for a Christmas Hamper receives one. We ask that you return your completed application to the foodbank prior to November 17, 2022.

For those of you with children and would like to be matched with a community sponsor, please return your application as soon as possible. As much as we would
love to be able to find sponsors for all our families, this may not be possible. Please be assured we are doing our best.

Toys for the children will be as it was last year. Please indicate what your child(ren) would like as we try to match as best we can.

Please note: As hygiene products are now given out year round, they will not be included in Christmas Hampers.

The pickup location will be at the Merritt Legion. Parents can come Dec 13-15 to pick out a toy or two for their children.
Christmas day food hampers will be available Dec 20-23. Further details will follow.

The process of Christmas hampers will be different from past years. We ask for your patience as we guide our way through to provide you with some of the makings of a nice Christmas holiday season.

Christmas 2023 at the Nicola Valley Food Bank

Christmas is approaching fast and before we know it, we will be with our families watching the young ones open their gifts, with excitement in their voices and then enjoying a nice Christmas dinner with our loved ones.

We have begun our 2023 Christmas hamper sponsorship program, St. Nick’s in the Nicola Valley, and we are asking for those who can help us, to fill out an application and we will then match you with a family that is facing financial hardship this holiday season.

The foodbank and our clients are appreciative of all the sponsors from past years. Your generosity truly makes a difference to the families you have helped, and we hope you are able to join our program again this year. We welcome any new organizations, businesses or individuals who would like to contribute to make a family’s Christmas merry and bright.
