Help Us Share the Joy This Christmas

As the holiday season approaches, the Nicola Valley Food Bank is once again opening our hearts—and our doors—to help make Christmas a little brighter for those in need.

We are now accepting applications for our St. Nick’s of the Nicola Valley Christmas Program, which offers support in three ways:

• For Adults: Individuals who could use a helping hand this season
• For Households with Children: Seeing the smiles on the faces of children, Priceless!
• For Sponsors: Community members who wish to adopt a family and share the joy

Whether you’re requesting support or offering it, your participation helps bring warmth, dignity, and hope to our community.

Applications are available:
• In person at the Nicola Valley Food Bank (2026 Quilchena Avenue)
• On our website www.nicolavalleyfoodbank.com
• Or by email at foodbank@telus.net — just let us know which type of application you require

Important for Clients: Please complete and return your application as soon as possible. If you’re unsure which form to fill out, Vanya or Fran at the welcome desk will be happy to assist you. Prompt submissions help us plan, order, and prepare the right quantities so every family can enjoy a joyful and nourishing holiday season.

We offer two types of applications:

• One for adults only
• One for households with children

Important Deadline: All applications must be submitted by November 27, 2026.

Please join in us with spreading Christmas Spirit this year by becoming a “St. Nick of the Nicola Valley” to one of our food bank client family’s. The cost of living has increased, as we all know, the number of clients has increased, and donations are down this year. We are grateful to all those who participate in the program.

Depending on the size of the family, a hamper can cost between $250.00 – $500.00.

The sponsor will provide the following:
– Christmas Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, bread or pancakes
– Christmas Dinner: Turkey or ham, vegetables, gravy and stuffing (all the fixings)
– Snacks: Cookies, potato chips or crackers
– Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Hot chocolate or pop
– Christmas gifts

We have families with 1 parent and 1 child to as many as 2 parents, grandparents, and three or four children.

You can also choose to help one of our many other clients such as a senior or a person with a disability.

Please email the application back to foodbank@telus.net if you would like to join us on our mission to help bring joy to a family this year.

Another option is monetary donations that can be dedicated towards our Christmas Hamper campaign.
