About The Program
Our community is privileged to offer this program, thanks to the generous support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, and the BC Farmers Market Association.
Each Farmers Market season, eligible households receive coupon booklets valued at $21 each, which can be used like cash for purchasing fruit, vegetables, and other program-approved items.
In addition to our provincial partners, we collaborate with local organizations such as Merritt Youth and Family Resources, The Conayt Friendship Center, and Merritt Moms and Families. These invaluable partners assist in identifying families who would benefit from this program, provide food-related training, and facilitate coupon allocation for those who may not regularly access food bank services. We extend our deepest gratitude for their unwavering support, recognizing that by working together, our entire community thrives.
Please note that income eligibility for this program is determined based on Stats Canada LICOs income levels, rather than our local food bank’s criteria. If you seek further information, please refer to the links provided below or contact a volunteer for clarification.
