The Nicola Valley Food Bank society was formed in 1999 to help those in the Nicola Valley who live within the limitations of low income to gain access to food for their families. In 2015 we reached an all-time assistance level of helping over 1140 individuals in our community. Some may only access our services once in a lifetime or for a short period while we find that others need our assistance on a more frequent and longer basis. This results in a community support level approaching 11,000 clients assisted in a one year period. If you require our services to access food please come into the food bank during business hours (Tuesday - Thursday 10 am through 1 pm) with your proof of income, documentation showing an address in our area, and ID for each member of your family. (We commonly use a medical card). If you are looking to make a donation we encourage you to come during business hours for financial donations while non-perishable donations can be left in the donation bins located at the front of both our local Save-On-Foods and No Frills.
